"Oh dear, it seems I forgot my umbrella home today"
Reimu mumbled looking outside the open school doors. The rain had started early in the afternoon and continued still.
"Would you like to borrow my umbrella Hakurei?" One of her friends asked. Reimu smiled back.
I may seem easy-going but I'm not stupid. I know already who took it.
There were some girls who somewhat disliked Reimu's additude and caused her some trouble from time to time. Hiding her shoes, borrowed her writing tools without returning them and such.
"No thanks. I'll be fine without it."
"But you'll get wet in seconds and catch a cold or something! It's a long way to your home right?"
"I said I'll be fine. No need to be worried about me."
She took her shoulder bag, walked outside and stopped under the canopy. Her friends and "foes" watched inside as she calmly took deeb breaths.
From earth has my body come, to earth shall my body shatter.
Thus, why wouldn't it be earth right now?
From nothing has the earth come, to nothing shall the earth disappear.
Thus, why wouldn't it be nothing right now? Nothing but an illusion.
Thus this body of mine, still earth, still an illusion.
Thus I can deny my body, but I can't deny my soul, my persona, my core.
And that is all I need.
Reimu felt her core move inside the shell that was her flesh body. It all gathered into a small pinhead-sized point in the middle.
The last deep breath.
She would be soaked. The second she'd take a step under the wide rain filled sky.
And the raindrops came onto her.
They pierced her, but did not touch, did not reach.
Mouths wide open everyone stared as Reimu took gracefully one step after another as if she was danced in a ritual.
She moved her body, protecting only the small core, dodging every single drop of water.
